Pakistan should immediately initiate strategic economic dialogue with China and the US, Ibrahim Murad

Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) Former Minister Ibrahim Murad has said that Pakistan should immediately initiate strategic economic negotiations with China and the United States. Pakistan can play a key role in the region by becoming a corridor for Chinese exports to Western markets.

In a statement, Ibrahim Murad said that effective economic strategies can increase Pakistani exports to $100 billion, and that correct and timely policymaking can be a historic turning point that will put Pakistan’s economy on a new path of stability and development. A significant increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) will boost the economy, millions of job opportunities will stabilize the middle class and lift the country out of poverty. Adapting the industrial sector to international requirements will improve both exports and employment.

Ibrahim Murad further said that one-third of the world's $16 trillion industrial output is in China. Pakistan can play the role of a bridge in this context. Pakistan's geographical position can provide fast, low-cost and secure access to eastern production and western consumers. Effective tax and policy reforms will attract foreign companies to invest in Pakistan. Resultant negotiations with China and the US are the most important need of the hour. Timely measures can increase Pakistan's economic and geographical position in the region.
