TEAM PAKISTAN TRAVELS TO MELBOURNE FOR THE T20 WORLD CUP FINAL
MELBOURNE: The Pakistan cricket squad arrived in Melbourne on Thursday in preparation for the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCGhosting )'s of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final on November 13.
The Men in Green are now just one victory away from winning the megaevent's trophy for the second time in 13 years following a successful hunt in Sydney the other day. The team led by Babar Azam will try to match Pakistan's 2009 triumph, when they won their only T20 World Cup.
The Green Shirts will face the victor of today's second semi-final between England and India on Sunday.
Before the exciting day, the national squad will rehearse in the meantime. Tomorrow at 11 A.M., the squad will conduct its first net session at the MCG (local time).
Pakistan, who just just made it to the final four, stunned New Zealand on Wednesday by winning the first semifinal by seven wickets and moving on to the final for the third time in T20 World Cups.
The team's batting mainstays, captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, made an incredible recovery in the semi-final and found their form just in time for the competition, giving them a huge confidence boost before the final. In their shared 105-run opening stand against the Kiwis, which was their ninth century partnership in T20Is, both players scored stunning fifties.
