LAHORE: Despite the notice of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the power crisis has not abated and unannounced load shedding continues.

The schedule of load shedding could not be released in the whole country including Punjab and power outage of 8 to 14 hours has become normal in different cities.

Citizens have complained that due to repeated tripping, electronics have started burning in the houses, fans, tube lights and water motors of the houses have started malfunctioning.

According to NTDC sources, the power generation is 20,000 MW while the demand for power is 27,300 MW. The shortfall of 7,300 MW is maintained in the country.

On the other hand, the distribution companies have blamed the Ministry of Energy for the load shedding.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had called an emergency meeting yesterday taking notice of prolonged power outages. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister had expressed his displeasure over the government officials and said that load shedding of more than 2 hours is not tolerated at all.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that I do not need explanations, get the people out of trouble, people need to get rid of the problem of load shedding, people are in trouble, there will be no compromise.
