Why is Gavaskar annoyed with Pakistani Miandad?
Pakistani cricket legend Javed
Miandad says he considers former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar a great player
and salutes him.
In a video released by the Pakistan
Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday, Javed Miandad said that former Indian captain
Sunil Gavaskar faced all the great bowlers in the world, including Dennis Lilly
and Jeff Thompson.
He advised the current cricketers to
"do your cricket well and follow the [good] cricketers."
Highlighting his relationship with
Sunil Gavaskar, Javed Miandad said that the former Indian captain used to play
very attentively and he used to try to divert his attention from the game.
The former Pakistan captain said,
"I remember I used to tease him [Gavaskar] a lot. Kept talking, kept
talking I used to say that the catch would come to me and he would listen. '
According to Miandad, Gavaskar often
got angry after being out and called him bad.
"How many times did he get out,
poor thing?"
According to Miandad, after Gavaskar
was out, he used to say, "He keeps talking, keeps talking, does not keep
quiet."
