Yuvraj Singh wanted to play the match, a player should be an 'ambassador' of the country, not an 'embarrassment': Shahid Afridi

The whole problem was caused by one boy who didn't want to play, it's a shame for the Indian team: Former captain

Former Pakistan star cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi has confirmed that Indian captain Yuvraj Singh wanted to play the match but a dirty egg spoils the atmosphere of the entire room.

According to details, the scheduled match between former Pakistan and Indian cricketers in the World Championship of Legends was canceled yesterday due to the stubbornness of the Indian players, on which Shahid Afridi has now made major revelations in an exclusive interview given to a journalist.

Shahid Khan Afridi said, "I had also said that you people want me not to come to the ground, cricket should happen, cricket is bigger than me, cricket is bigger than both the teams, you should become an ambassador of your country, don't be ashamed, the whole problem has arisen because of a half-hearted boy who didn't want to play, I think this is a source of shame for the Indian team, Indian captain Yuvraj Singh is a very brilliant all-rounder, he wanted to play this match, he is also angry with Indian cricketers, he is playing the role of captain in the WCL, he wanted to play that's why he came, just one dirty egg spoils the atmosphere of the whole room."

It may be recalled that in a statement on Sunday, the organizers said that “we have decided to cancel the India vs Pakistan match.” According to the statement, the match was arranged keeping in mind the recent improvement in sports relations between the two countries. In this context, reference was also made to the recent volleyball match between India and Pakistan and the possible tour of the Pakistani hockey team to India.

The decision to cancel the match came after former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan withdrew from the match. He shared a screenshot of an email on his X account in which he was informed about not playing the match. His statement said that he could not play the match due to the current geopolitical situation and tension between India and Pakistan.
