Yuvraj Singh wanted to play the match, a player should be an 'ambassador' of the country, not an 'embarrassment': Shahid Afridi
The whole problem was caused by one boy who didn't want to play, it's a shame for the Indian team: Former captain
Former Pakistan star cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi has confirmed that Indian captain Yuvraj Singh wanted to play the match but a dirty egg spoils the atmosphere of the entire room.

It may be recalled that in a statement on Sunday, the organizers said that “we have decided to cancel the India vs Pakistan match.” According to the statement, the match was arranged keeping in mind the recent improvement in sports relations between the two countries. In this context, reference was also made to the recent volleyball match between India and Pakistan and the possible tour of the Pakistani hockey team to India.
The decision to cancel the match came after former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan withdrew from the match. He shared a screenshot of an email on his X account in which he was informed about not playing the match. His statement said that he could not play the match due to the current geopolitical situation and tension between India and Pakistan.
The scheduled T20 match between Pakistan and former Indian cricketers in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) has been canceled due to the stubbornness of the Indian players.
According to the WCL website, this league has been introduced for retired and non-contracted players at the international level to enable them to play competitive cricket again. The tournament began on July 18 in Birmingham, England, and will continue until August 2. Teams from Pakistan, India, England, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa are participating in it. The matches will be played in Birmingham, Northampton, Leeds, and Leicester.
