Sara Inam murder case, convict Shahnawaz Ameer sentenced to death
The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has sentenced Shahnawaz Amir, the main suspect in the Sara Inam murder case, to death.
District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana had reserved the verdict on completion of the final arguments of the parties in the Sara Inam murder case and announced that it will be pronounced on December 14.
Arah Inam was a 37-year-old Pakistani-Canadian citizen who held a high-level job in Dubai and was the wife of Shahnawaz Amir.
She was found dead in a farmhouse in Chak Shahzad area of Islamabad in September last year, where she lived with her husband and her mother Samina Shah.
During the hearing of the case, the lawyer of the main accused Shahnawaz Amir, Basharatullah, while giving final arguments, raised questions on the police investigation and said that the basis of the case is only the plaintiff's statement.
In the last hearing of the case, Nisar Asghar, the lawyer of accused Shah Nawaz Amir's mother and named co-accused in the case Samina Shah, gave final arguments and said that the charge against his client is only for aiding in the murder of Sara Inam, but there is no proof of this. does not exist.
Prosecutor Rana Hasan Abbas told the court in his final arguments that Sara Inam had suffered multiple injuries and according to the medical report, Sara Inam died due to multiple injuries on the head and broken bones and not due to cardiac arrest.
The prosecutor told the court that Shahnawaz Ameer's DNA matched with Sara Inam and their cohabitation was also proved. He did not have a DNA match with a third person, which means that no one else can be suspected of his murder.
Plaintiff lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim presented the photographic evidence of the crime scene before the court and the court was told that the pictures of the crime scene were taken by Shahnawaz Amir's mobile phone.
Accused Samina Shah, the mother of the main accused, told the court during the hearing that she was in another room when she received a call from Shah Nawaz. When she went to the room, Shahnawaz was not in his senses.
He said that he himself called Shahnawaz's father and senior journalist Ayaz Ameer and told him about the incident.
Samina Shah told the court that Ayaz Ameer told her to tie up Shahnawaz Ameer in the room so that he could escape. Ayaz Amir asked if the girl is alive. I told them that he had died.
Samina Shah was also overwhelmed while narrating this incident in the court room and she said that Sara was a very sweet child.
Both the parties can file an appeal in the High Courts against the decision of the District and Sessions Court.
