KARACHI: Pakistan's first locally made TV plant has started operations.

According to details, multinational company Samsung Electronics has started making 50,000 TV sets in collaboration with a Pakistani company.

In this regard, Business Advisor Abdul Razzaq Dawood while giving good news on his Twitter account said that in the next 2 years the production of TV sets by the company will be increased to 1 lakh.

It should be noted that South Korean company Samsung Electronics has partnered with local company R&R to manufacture TV sets locally, and together they set up Pakistan's first plant in Karachi.

Initially, the target is to produce 50,000 units under this partnership, however, 100,000 units will be produced in two years.

The trade adviser said in a tweet that this was the result of the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce's 'Make in Pakistan' policy, adding that all Pakistani companies should partner with similarly prominent international companies.

Abdul Razzaq Dawood also congratulated Samsung Electronics Company on the operationalization of the first TV lineup plant.
