ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of Islamic countries in Pakistan on the situation in Afghanistan, after 41 years, the entire Muslim Ummah gathered in Islamabad.
According to details, the 17th Extraordinary Meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers has started at the Parliament House, Islamabad. The meeting has been convened by Saudi Arabia while Pakistan is hosting the event.

The OIC Foreign Ministers Council meeting is attended by 70 delegations, including 20 foreign ministers and 10 deputy ministers from various Islamic countries, as well as representatives of non-member countries and international organizations.
Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Mottaki is also present in the meeting. Besides, Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bosnia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Palestine, Jordan, Somalia, Gambia, The foreign ministers of Sierra Leone and Gabon are also present.
In addition to US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West, representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, China, the United States, Britain, Russia and France, are also attending the meeting.
For the OIC meeting, the federal capital has been decorated with electric light bulbs, highways have been lit with electric light bulbs while more than five thousand diligent personnel have been deployed on duty under strict security arrangements in the city government.
