Former national team league spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has predicted the retirement of Virat Kohli from T20 cricket after the Indian team was left out of the T20 World Cup.
Mushtaq Ahmed, a former bowling consultant for the national team, said that the Indian team remained in the biosecure bubble for many months due to the IPL and that is why they suffered a loss which is reflected in their performance.
He said that things had changed when Kohli had announced before the T20 World Cup that this would be his last T20 series as captain, while the BCCI had denied the claim. This is not true but later Virat Kohli himself confirmed that he will leave the captaincy after the T20 World Cup.
The former league spinner said that when a cricketer says that he will leave the captaincy, it means that something is wrong in the dressing room. As a player, I can say that Kohli did not have good relations with his teammates. He may also retire from T20 cricket.
Mushtaq Ahmed said that you can clearly see two groups in the Indian cricket team, one is Mumbai group and the other is Delhi group.
It should be noted that the Indian team, which suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the first match of the T20 World Cup, defeated Namibia by 9 wickets in the last group match and ended the event with a victory.
